Interview:

2012 Lydia Clay-Jackson

Lydia Clay-Jackson was elected president. During her tenure, Lydia emphasized recognition of the many people that make the association work. She has a particular talent for making all members of the association feel like members of the same team.

During her year, TCDLA lobbyists (Allen Place, David Gonzalez, Kristen Etter), our Legislative Committee (Mark Daniel, Susan Johnston), and incoming President Bobby Mims fought to head off reciprocal discovery, vigorously sought by state prosecutors. These folks were successful, as Lydia noted, in getting the Texas Legislature to understand the differences between Brady violations and pretrial discovery.
