Rick Hagen began his term discussing discovery reform, as it gained momentum on the Texas stage, and continued throughout his term to use the presidential pulpit to advocate for the defense.

Throughout his term, Rick fought hard to highlight some of the “rules of the road” that hindered defense or mitigated against constitutional protections.

During his tenure, he sought for a better working relationship between TCDLA and the State Bar of Texas. And also during his term, Rick began personally agitating for a new TCDLA home, lamenting the cramped conditions of its Nueces Street location, leading ultimately to a new leased location and far more accommodating conditions.
