About Member
Kristin Meeks Kristin Meeks works on TIDC’s Oversight and Improvement Teams as a Senior Policy Analyst. Before joining TIDC, Kristin Meeks worked as a Law Fellow at the SMU Deason Criminal Justice Reform Center. She focused on public policy and communications, using the Center’s academic research to create resources for practitioners and policymakers, and doing her own research in the areas of public defense, prosecution, and small, tribal, and rural criminal justice. Kristin started the Center’s Rural Summer Externship Program that matches law students with rural prosecution and public defense offices for a summer work experience. She was also the Rulo Rural Strategies Fellow, working with the Rural Justice Collaborative on their Rural Innovation Project. In 2020, Kristin graduated cum laude from the SMU Dedman School of Law. During law school, she was the Online Editor of the Science and Technology Law Review, a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic, a mock trial team member, and an active member of the Association for Public Interest Law. Kristin interned with the Texas Attorney General’s Office, the Office for the Comptroller of Currency, the Collin County District Attorney’s Office, the Rockwall County District Attorney’s Office, Fidelity Investments, and the Deason Center. Kristin also holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a Marketing Concentration from SMU Cox School of Business. There, she was a Forté Fellow and served as Co-Vice Chair of the Executive Committee for the Global Leadership Program, Asia A cohort. Before she went to graduate school, Kristin was a law clerk who kept her attorneys sane at their mid-size firm in Austin, TX. Kristin holds a BA in Plan II Honors and Government with Certificates in Business Foundations and Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
