Kristin is double board-certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both Criminal Law and Criminal Appellate Law. Kristin maintains a solo full-time Criminal Defense practice in Dallas, Texas, focusing on trials, appeals, and writs of habeas corpus. She graduated magna cum laude from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in 2013; received her LL.M. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia in 2014 and is a July 2014 graduate of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyer’s College in Wyoming. Kristin is licensed to practice in Texas and is admitted to practice in front of the Northern and Eastern District of Texas, the District of Nebraska, the Fifth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Kristin has been a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association (TCDLA) and DCDLA since licensure and has served as a board member on both. Kristin has been named as a Super Lawyers Rising Star 2017–2023 and was named one of the Top 50 women attorneys and Top 100 Rising Stars overall in 2023; was named a Super Lawyer in 2024; has been named a “Best Lawyer in Dallas” by D Magazine since 2020; a top-ten appellate attorney by Dallas’s Best Criminal Defense Attorneys; and has maintained a judicial and peer-reviewed AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale Hubbell for five plus years. Kristin is an active speaker and has presented on topics such as Discovery, Eyewitness Testimony, DNA, Error Preservation, Legislative Updates, Trial and Office Technology and Management, and Social Media. Kristin has a published Law Review article on Social Media’s Effect on Jury Impartiality as well as publications on the Cross-racial Effect on Eyewitness Identification, Conflicts of Interest, and others.
