About Member
Born in Ft. Worth, I am a graduate of UT Austin and U of H Law School in Houston. I have been licensed since 1978. I began my career working at the Harris County DA's Office. I later worked for the Bell County DA and Travis County DA. I then worked for the Attorney General's Office. I went into private practice with Stuart Kinard in the mid 1980's. Kinard & Kinard specialized in DWI and intoxication-related offenses. I edited Kinard's DWI Manual. I spent six years on the State Bar Grievance Committee. I was a sole practitioner from 2003 until 2007. From 2007 to 2015 I was Director of Travis County Mental Health Public Defender Office. I am a former president of Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and am a former Board Member of TCDLA and TCDLEI.
